"Webster is the sort of natural performer who can't help but capture your attention." British Comedy Guide
Want To Hire Gavin Webster?
Describing his route into the wonderful world of comedy as a four way choice between the Police Force, The Mayor of Gateshead, a Cowboy or a Comedian, Gavin Webster, hailing from the famous Webster family (thats the people who make the dictionaries), had never been short of money. After years of not really working, he eventually was forced into it or his rich grandfather, Cyril Blaydon Baths IV was going to cut his 20k per month allowance. So it was off to the Job Centre with the filthy, working class people to try to find a job.
His sarcastic methods of comedy have been the forefront of his rise to fame, including a break in television. Jokes on religion, women, the white working class and Jordan have also helped him to appear on Never Mind the Buzzcocks, the Stand up Show, the 11 o Clock Show and many Edinburgh Fringe festivals. Gavin Websters first ever gig was in Gateshead where he was on the same bill as Ross Noble.
Established and Moronic
As an established name on the circuit, he has also supported Lee Evans, Jack Dee and Phill Jupitus on tour the hard edged routines, quick-fire pastiche pieces, moronic jokes, sardonic songs, and his unique style has brought him this kind of praise and attention. He is also part of comedy promoting agency Off The Kerb Productions.
“His daftness is little short of surreal genius” – The Stage
“Virtuoso and close to the bone stuff” – Sunday Sun
“Like a cross between Bill Hicks and Geoff off Byker Grove” – Ross Noble
