Want to Book Spencer Brown?
Bouncy, slapstick, and a master of silly faces, Spencer Brown is a joy to watch live. After an 8 year break from stand-up (doing fancy things, like directing and starring in his own film), he’s now firmly back on the circuit, and we’re so glad! His comedy persona was originally created, he says: ‘…to highlight the contrivance of the act of stand-up. I was trying to walk a fine line between being funny and being a guy who thought he was funny.’ Spencer’s new persona is more, err, ‘him’, and the good news is that the new ‘him’ is even funnier than the old ‘him’. Confused? Don’t be. Just be assured that if you hire Spencer Brown, you’re getting an enthusiastic, top-notch stand-up, who’s very good at being daft. Oh, and he now has a beard, so perhaps we should change our photo…
Moving To TV
Having appeared at numerous Edinburgh Festivals and performing at pretty much every top comedy club in the world, Spencer set his sights on TV (as any comedian would). He co-hosted ITV 2’s Lip Service with Holly Willoughby and has acted in various successful television comedies, including: ‘Nathan Barley’, ‘Man to Man’ with Dean Learner and Garth Marenghi’s ‘Darkplace’. He was also a member of the Cambridge Footlights that included Matthew Holness, Richard Ayoade and John Oliver.
