— LIVE COMEDY / MEET THE TALENT
Musical invention. Surreal ideas.
Comedy in a key of its own.
Bill moves between stand-up, music and gloriously unexpected ideas. Familiar sounds become comic material, while stories and observations head off in wonderfully strange directions.
Comedian, musician and inventive storyteller.
”
“Inspired wit that is both daft and elegantly highbrow.”

Bill’s comedy brings musicianship, wordplay and surreal observation together in a style all his own.
Music is part of the language of Bill’s live work: an instrument, a familiar tune or an unexpected sound can become the starting point for a comic detour. His shows include Part Troll, Tinselworm, Limboland and Thoughtifier.
Television audiences know him as Manny in Black Books and from Never Mind the Buzzcocks and QI. His acting credits also include Spaced and Doctor Who.
Music on a bigger stage. Bill performed Bill Bailey’s Remarkable Guide to the Orchestra with Anne Dudley and the BBC Concert Orchestra at the Royal Albert Hall. At Sonisphere in 2011, his musical comedy reached a very different audience: a festival crowd sharing a bill with major rock and metal bands.
His wider work reflects interests in art and the natural world. It includes the books Bill Bailey’s Remarkable Guide to British Birds and Bill Bailey’s Remarkable Guide to Happiness, and presenting Extraordinary Portraits. He also won Strictly Come Dancing in 2020.
WHAT PEOPLE SAY
“His show is a consistently brilliant collage of musical parodies, anecdotes and off-the-wall surrealism.”
