Want to Hire Frank Skinner?
Frank Skinner is one of the biggest names in comedy. His rise to fame was given a massive boost back in 1991, when he beat Eddie Izzard and Jack Dee, to win the prestigious Perrier award. Since then, as well as being a sell-out stand up hit, he’s also penned a song that reached #1 in the UK charts (twice); written a best selling autobiography; and starred in, written and hosted numerous TV and radio shows. Book Frank Skinner and you get a professional, self-assured comedian with an incredible track record, who’s managed to maintain his ‘bloke down the pub’ persona.
Early Stand Up
Frank started his comedy career in 1987, and although his initial forays into the world of stand up didn’t go smoothly (Frank recalls “dying on his arse” during his first gig), he kept at it. After his 1991 win, Frank was in demand: in 1993 he performed in the Royal Variety Show; in 1994 he toured a 60 date sell-out show; and in 1997 he made it into the Guinness Book of World Records for Britain’s biggest solo performance. In 2001 he was named British Comedy Personality of the Year. His most recent show, Man in a Suit, has been hailed as a triumphant return to the world of comedy.
Frank Skinner on TV and Radio
Not content with his success on the comedy circuit, Frank made his TV debut on Central Weekend in 1992 which prompted 131 complaints. Since then he’s had his own chatshow (The Frank Skinner Show) hosted shows (Fantasy Football League and Room 101), appeared in self-written sitcoms like Shane, and has his own show on Absolute Radio.
