Want to Hire Stephen K Amos?
Stephen will be a familiar face for any comedy fan; warm, joyful and the master of feel good comedy, Stephen’s been gracing us with his presence since 2001. Since his debut he’s appeared at every Edinburgh Fringe since 2003 and has penned and toured a new show almost every year and if that’s not talent then we don’t know what is.
A Master of Stand Up…
Stephen has been selling out huge venues for years and it’s easy to see why: his natural, self-assured delivery, coupled with an almost child-like joy, make him a sure-fire hit with any crowd. Someone recently suggested he’s the new Bruce Forsyth… and whilst we wouldn’t go quite that far (Stephen’s material is somewhat fresher), we think he does have a certain ‘Brucey’ appeal – effortlessly connecting with audiences of all ages and backgrounds. Book Stephen K Amos and you’re getting a comedian who’s charming and charismatic, with compering skills that are second to none (he was nominated for the Chortle Award for best compere not once, not twice, but three times).
IN THE BEGINNING…
Since his brilliant debut Stephen’s been a regular fixture on the comedy circuit, picking up Time Out’s award for best stand up in 2004 and countless other awards and nominations both here in the UK and down under. His latest tour, The Spokesman was belly-achingly funny and met with rave reviews. Stephen’s unique blend of wit, charm and risqué social commentary makes him a formidable force in the world of comedy and has won him the hearts and minds of audiences worldwide. He was even selected to perform in the Royal Variety show in 2007!
…And Television, Radio and Theatre …
On the box Stephen’s appeared on Mock the Week, Argumental, Live at the Apollo and Have I Got News for You, to name a few.
He’s not limited to comedy either and has guest starred in several other shows from Eastenders to playing Jimi Hendrix in BBC3’s Snuff Box and even flexed his culinary muscles in a special episode of the Great British Bake Off. He’s also a host of the side splitting Radio Four program: Life: An Idiot’s Guide and has wowed theatre goers with his performance in One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.
