AT A GLANCE
Intelligent satirical stand-up
An Indian perspective on Britishness
Film and theatre writer
International live experience
Anuvab’s comedy travels between India and Britain, finding plenty of absurdity in the history, habits and assumptions they share.
Anuvab approaches big subjects with a satirist’s eye and a storyteller’s curiosity. His shows explore identity, cultural differences and the lingering oddities of the British Empire. There is a lot of history to work with, and very little of it gets off lightly.
His live work includes The Empire, Democracy and Disco Dancing and The Department of Britishness, with performances at Soho Theatre and across international stages. The Empire also became part of the Soho Theatre Live series on Amazon Prime.
He is a contributor to the satirical podcast The Bugle, alongside Andy Zaltzman, and his broadcasting credits include QI, The News Quiz and Just a Minute.
Beyond stand-up, Anuvab writes for film and theatre, with screenwriting credits including Loins of Punjab Presents and The President Is Coming. He brings a broad cultural perspective and a thoughtful comic voice, for audiences who enjoy ideas with their laughs.
