Want To Hire Ian Stone?
Ian Stone is one of the most talented topical acts and comperes that we’ve ever seen. The Independent ranked him in the top ten stand-ups in Britain, and it’s easy to see why: Ian has a knack of packaging his edgy and provocative material in a sweet little easy going parcel. And that, my friend, is his unique ‘gift’. Book Ian Stone for your event and you can relax, because from the moment he steps on stage, he has the audience in the palm of his hand. A Jewish North Londoner through and through, Ian went to the same school as David Baddiel, and his first experience on stage was a result of his girlfriend giving him a shove. We’re so glad she did!
Ian’s Footy Mad
Ian Stone is known for his TV and Radio Work, appearing on such shows as Mock The Week and Never Mind the Buzzcocks, but he’s also a regular on various football programmes, including The Football’s On, on BT Sport and BBC Radio 5’s Fighting Talk. Oh, and he’s a co-host on Rock and Roll Football on Absolute radio. Apart from that, he regularly performs at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and got rave reviews for his own show for Udderbelly at the Southbank recently. He’s a busy fella: he even finds time to write his own column in the Official Arsenal Magazine (a role he took on in 2011, which sadly coincided with Arsenal’s worst start to a season in 36 years).
A Little Piece Of Stone
In a tour controversially called, “A Little Piece of Kike”, the organisers forced Stone to put the word “Kike” in inverted commas as it was considered racist. Stone commented about the term at the time saying, “I saw a description of it. ‘It said low-class, ill-mannered Jew,’ and I thought, ‘That’s me!’”
“Ian Stone is intelligent and likable and has the audience in the palm of hand from the second he steps on stage.” – Broadway Baby
“Seriously funny” – The Guardian
“…like a cross between Tony Hancock and Frankie Howerd. Stone is probably better than we deserve. Ultimately, it is the sheer quantity of funny material that really impresses” – The List
